Mayor Roderick T. Nicholson
Mayor Roderick T. Nicholson

Roderick T. Nicholson is the present Mayor of Terry and the first African American to hold this office. The Board of Aldermen consists of Virginia Smith Bailey, Elzena Kitchens Johnson, Wes Moore, Joseph O. Kendrick, Jr., and Doris J. Young. The Mayor and Board serve a four-year term and are officially elected as Independents. 

There are three (3) county officers who are from the Terry area, and they are:

George S. Smith (Supervisor, District 5)

Clyde Chapman (Justice Court Judge, District 5)

Bennie Buckner (Constable, District 5)


The Mississippi State Senate representative is David Blount who is from Jackson, MS

The Town of Terry is represented in the Mississippi State House of Representatives by Jim Ellington and Gregory Holloway.
