NOTICE OF INCREASED\u00a0WATER\/SEWER\/GARBAGE\u00a0RATES\u00a0AND CHARGES EFFECTIVE\u00a0FOR WATER\/SEWER\/GARBAGE\u00a0BILLED IN JANUARY 2019<\/h4>\n

Dear Customer,
\nThe Town met with representatives from the Mississippi State\u00a0University Extension Service to review the existing rates and future\u00a0needs for the Town’s water, sewer and garbage services. The\u00a0recommendation was to increase rates to meet the Town’s needs. The\u00a0Town has not had a rate increase in over a decade. The rate increases\u00a0are related to wholesalers raising their rates as they work to obtain\u00a0new and more reliable supplies and the need to build a new and more\u00a0reliable infrastructure.<\/p>\n

An overall rate increase was approved by the Board to begin January 1,\u00a02019 due to higher costs from suppliers and to accommodate other\u00a0infrastructure needs. Your water bill will increase by $1.00 for the\u00a0base rate and $0.25 for the variable rates per month which will also\u00a0increase the sewer rate according to usage, the garbage rate will\u00a0increase to $15.00.<\/p>\n
